Some mild complaints-if your within 3 feet of the hole and not putting please mark your ball, even if it doesnt
seem to be in the line of the other players.
1-2-09
Latteral Hazzard (Water or Red staked areas): you have 3 choices.
1. Looking at the spot where the ball went in, take that line (between there and where the flag is
) and walk back as far as you want.
2. Take 2 club lengths from point of entry (or red line)into the hazard (no Nearer to the hole)
3. Re-tee or return to the original spot of your shot.
12-6-08
If you are tending the flag, look/check your shadow and make sure it is not covering the hole while waiting
for that person to putt.
12-1-08
Ready golf: When your slightly or a lot behind the group in front of you, do
NOT wait for your turn to hit, look around and if your partner/opponent isnt ready to hit, please hit.
This will speed up your group a little.

BASIC ETIQUETTE
Usually on the green, the person whose ball is closest to the pin, removes and/or tends it.
Usually on the green, the person who putts their ball in first, is the one who holds/replaces the flag after
their group finished putting.

MARKING YOUR BALL ON THE GREEN
How do I move/mark my ball to give a player an unobstructed line to the hole.
Two ways are acceptable: 1. Mark you ball with a coin/etc , pick a line (a tree or something) take
your putter and place the butt of the putter against the marker, pointing the putter at that line/object and
place that marker at the tip of you putter.
2. Take a line (as above), Place you putters butt next to your ball and place your marker
at the toe.
note: A 2 stroke penalty applies unless you reverse the above procedures exactly
before putting.

SKINS NIGHTMARE
Making up skin payments, results in a bookeeping nightmare. So, we are going to down size all individual skin monies
to the half dollar.. I will make up slush funds for each group. Ladies net, Mens net & Mens gross. As
soon as the slush fund/s have sufficient dollars to handle an up and down .50 cent margin, we will round them up
or down Any questions call me..

RULE QUESTIONS:the simplest way to solve rules disputes it to play 2 balls on that hole. e.g. pete's
ball is seen going into a lateral water hazard. Joe says because he can not identify/find his ball he must return to
the previous spot and hit another ball (under the lost ball rule) stroke and distance penalty. . Pete says on a lateral
water hazarad you only have to see the ball going into to the water and play the relief accordingly 1 stroke penalty. Pete
then goes back to the previous spot and plays ball #1 thru the green. At the same tme playing from the hazard ball #2
through the green, recording both scores. Return to the club house after the round and submit the problem to the rules
committee which will rule ball 1 or ball 2 being the correct play.
2-14-07
There is a little confusion about the out of bounds/lost ball rule. If you have an O.B. or lost ball on any
shot, 2nd or 3rd etc. it is still stroke and distance e.g. return to the previous spot and hit another ball plus 1 stroke
penalty

Don't forget, I always put you in for Saturday play unless you email or call me (by Thursday if possible) that
you DO NOT desire to play..
thanks

Remember, the score you get on a hole is the one you put down on the score card. The computer will adjust
your score for handicap.

COUNTING PUTTS
|
|
|
Q. Our club has a game each week for the lowest
putts. What is the recommended method for counting putts? |
|
A. The Rules of Golf do not address how statistics are kept. In USGA Championships where putts are counted,
the player has made his first putt once he has made a stroke from the putting green and all subsequent strokes are counted
as putts. It is up to the Committee in charge of the event to determine how putts will be counted and the method used for
counting.
We will do that: Starting with the first or any putt on the green, if you knock it off the green,
it still counts as a putt coming back on the putting surface. | |

It is very important that you call or email and advise me that you are unable to play on any Saturday, if you
want to tell me on Saturday please put it in a note and give it to me or Bobbie(you all know how the old memory is). Not
showing creates a book keeping nightmare for the various games being played. To keep it fair, if somemone
doesnt show up for a schedulled tee time it will be assumed that they will not be at the next Saturday's
event and will be left off the start sheets until that person calls and confirms his/her availablity to play. If
ou dont comlete a round your not eligible for skins, close to pins or certs.
THANKS,
TOM
